BLACK ROSE SOCIETY was founded on the initiative of House Sauromatos in November 2017. In the beginning, BLACK ROSE SOCIETY took on many of the functions marking a traditional Outer Court to a Vampyric Household: Providing a safe haven to gather, to mingle, to exchange news and information, to enjoy hospitality, to befriend, to learn on a basis of personal knowing. In this, BLACK ROSE SOCIETY was set up to be explicitly open to all interested parties who might be sympathetic to the Vampyre subculture, regardless of their individual level of experience.

Since 2019, BLACK ROSE SOCIETY, now fully independent of House Sauromatos, has grown to become a truly international Community Organisation hosting regular moderated discussions in two languages and as well as regional meetings. BLACK ROSE SOCIETY offers an uncomplicated and well-maintained network to exchange ideas with other members from Europe and abroad using the third-party platform Discord.

From 2025 onwards, BLACK ROSE SOCIETY is expanding to explore a more diverse range of topics, shifting from a community primarily focused on the Vampyre subculture to become a Gothic, Vampyre and Dark Alternative Community Organisation. With its strong foundations and roots in the Vampyre subculture, BLACK ROSE SOCIETY bridges various countercultural movements and alternative subcultures, seeking to connect like-minded people across different communities and backgrounds.
