We are proud to announce an official partnership agreement between Black Rose Society and Project V, one of the most promising and vibrant Vampyre community projects of the recent years. To mark the occasion, we interviewed Lady Nova (@thewoodlandvampyre) of Project V about the community project’s formation, mission, organisation and future, as well as her own role as founder and head of Project V.

Welcome, Lady Nova. Thank you for agreeing to this profile interview.
Thank you for having me. I look forward to it.
What is the history behind your name?
Project V, since day one, has always been declared a Project; it is a cluster of Projects with many phases preplanned throughout each year, which are subject to change. Despite the jokes that V stands for 5, V is actually for Vampyre; I know it’s so simple. The name is straightforward and represents the bigger picture that our projects are meant to serve the Vampyre community as a whole, not limited to a singular vamp identity.
Our slogan “Supporting the future of the Vampyre community” was coined once our intentions were known in the greater community. We are a progressive movement that pushes the boundaries and breaks generational curses caused by bad actors within the VC.

Would you explain your sigil‘s meaning to us?
Our logo branding is a play on the letter V that was crafted by one of our staff Luna Niluv. I wanted a design that not only emphasizes V is for Vampyre but also represents the thirst for knowledge aka the blood-tipped fang that’s shaped as a V.

What can you tell us about your group‘s foundation?
Project V was founded by myself in 2022 and released to the public in mid-2024. Project V is not just a community, but a groundbreaking movement dedicated to the future of the vampyre community. We share mostly modern values but also like to preserve traditional values. We are currently living in a time where resources, knowledge, and educators for our community are becoming less and less. The need for understanding, connection, education, and the spark that drives the community, has never been greater than before. Project V is here to bridge that gap. We are committed to creating a future where Vampyres and Non-Vampyres alike have access to the resources and support they deserve, as it should not be a chore to seek such resources. Through education, advocacy, and a growing network of like-minded individuals, we are fostering a space where both Vampyres and Non-Vampyres can find support, learn, and grow together as we have a better understanding of ourselves. With every social media post, crafted resource, and educational discussion, Project V seeks to provide educational content that empowers our community and educates the world. This allows us to filter out current developed bad habits and bad habits waiting to be developed. We are not just preserving history, we are shaping the future. Together, we will ensure that not only the present Vampyres but for the next generation of Vampyres have the tools, knowledge, and strength to live openly, authentically, and in peace.
What are some of your guiding principles and aims?
We aim to create new resources for the Vampyre community in hopes of bringing the spark back to the VC. We alone can not do that. It is the community’s job to want to make that happen. We simply lead by example and inspire others to create their own VC content, host in-person events, and help those who need it.
Are there topics or areas of vampyrism your group specifically focuses on?
Being that our group is an educational space, we do specialize in a plethora of vampyric topics. We do handle community history, vampyric identity-specific topics, health and safety, and much more. This space may appear more beginner- friendly but we do have more intermediate or advanced topics some of which are hidden away in the 18plus channels away from minors.
Is there a specific code of ethics your group ascribes to? For example Black Veil, Totum Lex Vampyrica, The Vampire Ethos, Orthodox Vampyrism, etc.
We do subscribe to the black veil for community behavior and we also subscribe and heavily promote the donor bill of rights for donorship safety and consent guidelines.
Is your group rooted in a specific tradition, spiritual, religious, secular, or otherwise?
We do not follow any specific religion. What you practice is your own business and does not affect your membership. We simply ask you not to try to convert our members to your belief system.
How is your group organized? Is there a form of hierarchy and how is it arranged?
We do have a hierarchy but not like you would expect from a house. Our organization is more so put together like a corporate entity. We have different divisions that handle various tasks. Each division is just as important as the rest. We have:
- Community Engagement that handles events, and overall community entertainment or satisfaction.
- The mentors handle the educational portion of the community. They craft discussions, lessons, resources, and answer questions.
- The Disciplinary Committee is our head in conflict resolution. This specific role is not a role anyone can just do. Moderating on Discord is one thing but moderating in the VC is a whole other concept on its own. The disciplinary committee is what keeps Project V safe along with other spaces we are close to. The DC does not tolerate outlandish behavior and will make an example of what happens to unchecked disrespectful attitudes.
- Finally the SHR or for more dramatic flair “The Aristocratics” are those who run each division to make sure everything is running smoothly and that staff are doing what they are supposed to. This is the highest rank within our community.
When it comes to hierarchy it’s not necessarily about who is in charge of another it is how each division works as a team and how their specified skills can benefit others without giving a load of work for staff to handle all at once.
Is your group centered regionally? Is your membership from the same region? Do you also accept members from different regions?
We accept members from all regions as we want to ensure proper education is being spread across the world. What I will give a hint to one of our Projects is that I am making our resources more accessible through various languages which includes communication in the Discord server.
Are there regular meetings? Does membership in your group require attendance?
We do have regular events such as vamp discussions and events but it is not mandatory to show up. Though it is gratefully appreciated by those who do.
How formal is the group? Is specific etiquette expected from your members or are you more easygoing?
We are more easy-going and are a stark contrast to various spaces. We may have minors and adults but we expect respect and maturity from everyone. We do have a lot more fun and are not considered as sophisticated as other spaces but that makes us unique and a more outgoing family within the VC.
What is the most common age range in your group? Are there age requirements or limits?
You have to be 14 or older and must be ID with a government-issued Identification document in order to access the more mature portions of the server. The reason why we allow minors as in the past there have been very few spaces that allowed minors that were safe, understandably. Minors will sneak into bad spaces and retain harmful advice. This is why I have taken the responsibility to share a safe space for minors to receive moderated information that they are looking for. This allows minors to learn ways to protect themselves from red flag behaviors within the VC while learning more about their identity.
Are you actively looking for new members? What is expected of your membership? And what can members in turn expect from the group? How might one join your ranks?
We are actively looking for those who are willing to come to our space with an open mind as they traverse our various topics. The main expectations of our community are to follow our rules and adhere to our educational disclaimer:
Vampirism is a broad and multifaceted topic that encompasses various beliefs, myths, and interpretations. This platform does not claim to provide the definitive or objective truth about vampirism. We acknowledge that there are numerous sources and opinions on the subject, and we are open to exploring different ideals and perspectives. We intend to facilitate discussions and the exchange of ideas regarding vampirism, rather than promoting one specific viewpoint as the ultimate or factual truth. We encourage respectful dialogue and openness to diverse interpretations of vampirism. That being said, we still do enforce the ethics in the vampire community.

How much of Project V is shaped by your own experiences and personal vision?
While traversing the VC, I found that resources were not only dying off but also inaccessible to minors, understandably. I personally experienced the vampyric experience around 14 and a lot of spaces and resources were closed off. Like many other minors would do, this led me into sneaking into communities to get the resources and sense of community I wanted despite my lurking phase. My general goal with production from Project V is to make safe resources easily accessible to anyone including minors 14 and above.
How would you describe your role as founder of Project V?
As the founder of Project V, I ensure the various divisions are up and running. I do all the tasks that each branch does. I handle social media, disciplinary tasks, and vamp discussions on top of maintaining and creating resources that can be found via the Project V website.
In your role as founder of Project V, what drives you?
Helping people is what keeps me going and striving for bigger and better opportunities. I take criticism very seriously and if I hear that the community wants a specific kind of resource I make it, if they want a vamp discussion over a topic sure let’s hop into it. Usually this is where I get a lot of new ideas that inspire me to make something new.
Project V has come a long way since its inception, and it can certainly be called a success story. Is there anything you learned in the process of building Project V that you want to share? Do you have any words of advice to impart to other community builders or those looking to start their own projects for the vampire community?
My biggest advice I would give to people to craft a successful community is that you have to put in the work to actually keep it alive. Sure, you will have to run everything by yourself a bit, socialize when you don’t want to, and host events when you don’t have time for. But being present and approachable makes it so much easier for your members to come talk to you about concerns they may have. People just want to be heard and understood. By outreaching as such truly helps people a lot more than you think.
My next biggest advice is to not let vamp influencers and leaders dissuade you from creating something you believe in. The number of times I was looked down upon because of Project V and what I was creating is baffling. This is because people are scared of the unknown and instead of watching and supporting from a distance they would rather tear down something good. This is the effect of generational trauma from past events within the VC. Do not hate people who are just scared, prove them wrong and be that hope for the strive of change and betterment of everyone.
Lastly, what’s next for Project V? Do you have anything particularly exciting planned for Project V that you can share or tease at this point?
I have a particularly ambitious project that has been in the works and has gone through multiple iterations and I am finally getting close to where I want it to be. I can’t reveal too much but what I will say this will be the Turning Stone for Project V and how anyone can quench the thirst of knowledge in a much more immersive and interactive way. Keep an eye on our social media platform BYTE and our communication channels for future teasers.
Thank you for this interview, Lady Nova. Do you have any closing words?
Thank you for inviting me to raise awareness about Project V and what we have to offer. I hope that in the future, more communities will come together to learn from each other so we can all grow as a community and let go of past traumas. Collaborating on projects, supporting one another’s workings, and building trust are areas that needs a lot more care and focus, and I hope that by working together, we can set a positive example to further prove that communities with different paths and ideals can work together.
